THE MAP SHOWS THE NAME OF THE ROAD BUT NOT MY ACTUAL PROPERTY ADDRESS ?
Please be aware that Google Maps does not display private house names or numbers, nor does it show every business location. Instead, it uses GPS (Global Positioning System) to determine your position. Unfortunately, in Jersey, local authorities have not allowed Google Maps to provide 100% accurate GPS locations. As a result, the closest road name may appear in the address bar, but this can sometimes be incorrect, and the map pin for your current location could be off by up to 200 meters.
To ensure accuracy, first move the map on your screen so that the pin is positioned correctly. Then, click the pencil icon next to the address bar to enter your full address, including the house name or number. Once you've entered the information, press the 'set pick up' button.
If you’d like to save this address along with the correct GPS pin location to your favourites, click the yellow star icon at the top of the map, then select the 'Add' button that appears to add the address. You can access these saved addresses anytime by tapping the address bar, which will display a dropdown list of your favorites. Simply select any address, and the map and pin will automatically adjust to that saved location. You can follow the same steps for your drop-off location.
Storing your favorite addresses makes it much easier and faster to book taxis in the future!

No, you can download and use the app for free. There are no additional costs.
ON WHICH OPERATING SYSTEM CAN I USE THE JERSEY TAXIAPP ?
The App is currently available for both iOS, and Android devices or you can use our online booking page on this website. Click on the links given below to make sure you download the official JERSEY TAXIAPP from either Apple Store or Google Play.
DO I need to REGISTER TO USE THE APP ?
Yes, registering means that you get to use and receive all the Apps features, including those important SMS messages and emails to keep you informed about your taxi booking.
CAN WE BOOK A TAXI 'ASAP' OR DOES IT NEED TO BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE ?
JERSEY TAXIAPP works best for those who need a taxi straight away, however we will be more than happy to accommodate a pre-booked job up to 36 hours in-advance. In the final booking section of our App which is set to 'ASAP' by default, you can make an advance booking by pressing the “TIME" icon and then enter the date & time. You will receive a SMS message or Email to say the booking has been received.
ONCE I press the book button am I guaranteed a taxi ?
The app is simply confirming that your booking request has been received. Driver details will only be provided once your booking is successfully assigned. At that point, you’ll receive an SMS or email with the driver’s information and estimated arrival time, usually 15 to 5 minutes before pickup.
That’s why it’s essential to provide the correct mobile number and email address when registering. You can update these details anytime by going to 'Account' in the app menu.
While we strive to assign a driver to every booking, we cannot always guarantee it, no taxi service can. However, we have the largest fleet on the island, so in most cases, we will successfully find you a taxi.

CAN I FIND OUT HOW MUCH THE FARE WILL BE BEFORE I MAKE THE BOOKING ?
Please be aware that the estimated fare given on the app is just a guide price, calculated considering the distance between two points using a single route and the tariff at the time of booking.
The accuracy of this estimate relies on the correct input of the pickup and drop-off locations by the customer.
The app only provides fare estimates based on cash payments. It does not include the additional 50 pence, which is legally allowed for taxi drivers to charge when paying by card. It's also important to note that our app cannot predict changes in tariff before or during your journey, such as those occurring at 11pm and again at 7am, this is when the taxi meter undergoes an automated change from tariff A to B or C, this will result in an increased estimated fare. Conversely, if the tariff changes from C or B to A, the fare will be lower than the estimated amount.
The fare estimation cannot also account for varying traffic conditions like rush hour congestion, road construction, deviations due to road closures, or other delays. These factors can increase the time and distance of your journey, consequently affecting the estimated fare provided.

CAN I BOOK A PARTICULAR TYPE OF TAXI, e.g. - 5/6 SEATER OR WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE VEHICLE (WAV)?
Use the slider bar on the App to add how many passengers will be traveling in the vehicle. However, please note that there are not as many taxis available that can carry 5 or 6 passengers or vehicles that can carry lots of cases as there are 4 seaters that carry up to 4 cases, so requesting a 5/6 seater taxi narrows the field down somewhat as the system automatically searches for a suitable vehicle that can carry that amount of passengers or cases. If your booking request for a 5/6 seater taxi has not been successful and you have not received details of any assigned driver prior to the pickup time we suggest you try rebooking 2 x 4 seater taxis instead.

How do i know when my taxi has arrived ?
The JERSEY TAXIAPP will notify you via SMS when your driver arrives. Additionally, you’ll receive a message and email before the taxi arrives, providing you with the driver’s first name, the make and colour of the taxi, and the registration number. This information is especially useful if you're at an event with many taxis ordered, helping you easily identify your ride. You'll have all this information readily available on your smartphone.
CAN I BOOK A TAXI FOR MY CHILDREN TO BE PICKED UP ON THEIR OWN AND HOW DO I KNOW THEY WILL BE SAFE ?
Of course we will pick up your children as long as they are old enough to travel on their own without adult supervision and know how to behave properly and safely during the journey, this means they must wear seat belts at all times, the driver can provide a single booster seat for any child over the age of 3 years, but a child of that age must be accompanied by an adult and any child under the age of three has to go into a proper fitted child seat which the parents or guardian must provide, without a car seat the driver will refuse to carry the child because of vehicle insurance conditions. Please inform the driver by including any special requirements on the notes in the booking section of the app. All taxi drivers are DBS checked by the Police and DVS and carry public liability insurance to ensure your safety.
CAN I CANCEL MY BOOKING ?
Yes, but please don't leave it to last minute as the driver will usually start driving to your location straight away if it's an ASAP booking or about 10 minutes before a requested pickup time. Please note that abusing the app can result in blocking of your account.
do you have a lost property department ?
We do not have a lost property department, but we do have a 'Lost & Found' Facebook page, if a driver finds anything in their taxi they will usually look to see if anyone has posted a lost item on that page first or they will hand it into the Police Station. If you booked the taxi through the JERSEY TAXIAPP you could call the driver direct or send an SMS message.

Absolutely!, once a driver accepts your booking you will be able to see the real-time position of the Taxi on your App and then you can follow the vehicles on the route map. Do not worry if the taxi first appears to be going in the wrong direction as this happens when a driver already has passengers onboard and needs to get them to their destination before making their way next to your pickup location. You can even share the real time map to perhaps a family member or friend. by pressing the share button at the bottom of App screen and then choose to send the link by email or text message.
CAN I BOOK THE TAXI OVER THE PHONE AS I DON'T HAVE A SMART MOBILE PHONE
Yes we have an automated voice recognition service for ASAP bookings only on 07829 77775... We do not employ operators to take phone bookings. This helps keeps our overheads down and one of the reason why we are the cheapest taxis in the island. Besides using our App there is also the 'Book a taxi now' page on this JTDA website which also links to the drivers App.
How do i change the language of the the app ?
The language of the app is the same language of the phone or device in which it is installed by default. If you change the language of the phone/device, the app will also change to that language.
HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY TAXI ?
JERSEY TAXIAPP drivers accept payment by either cash or card as they all carry card reader terminals in their taxis to accept most major debit or credit cards.
No, the booking continues even if you close the app, you also receive a text message when the taxi arrives. If you leave the app open, you can track the taxi's arrival live on the map.
Unfortunately, it's not possible to book a taxi on the app or online without first creating an account. we require this form of verification to make sure that the passenger is making a genuine booking.
Can I pre-book a Taxi to go to the airport or harbour at any time ?
While it is possible to use the App to place a pre-booked journey request at any time of day or night, you should take into consideration that early morning bookings for Airport or Harbour departures that requires a taxi to pick up before 6 am should be placed the night before and no later than 9 pm, leaving it until after this time reduces the chance of getting you a taxi and confirmation of a successful booking is only made when you receive the assigned drivers details.

Yes you can by entering this request into the 'ADD MESSAGE TO DRIVER' box that is on the final booking page.
CAN YOU SEND ME AN INVOICE FOR THE TAXI FARE and my booking data?
Please note that invoices or receipts for taxi fares must be obtained directly from the taxi driver. Our role is solely to facilitate customer bookings for self-employed taxi drivers, and we do not handle accounts or customer payments.
If you paid by card, the transaction will be shown on your credit or debit card statement. Additionally, booking data, including details of your trip, was sent to you via email and text message at the time of the booking.
If you would like to request further booking data, there is an administration charge of £35.00 to cover the time and resources required to gather this information.
