JTDA Taxi Coordinator

The Taxi Coordinators job is to inform the drivers of incoming flights and boat arrivals during the busier times, this part time post is funded solely by the JTDA through annual membership fees.
The coordinator is in constant communication with all the Taxi drivers in the Association by using a handheld two-way radio, by giving continual updates of flight arrivals, passenger numbers and any special requests such as 5 and 6 seaters, or wheelchair vehicles so that drivers can respond accordingly.
The coordinator can also update customers during busy periods by giving them approximate times when Taxis will arrive to pick them up.
This is a very important link for both Taxi driver and customer, it's hoped that the JTDA will be able to continue funding this and Q-Safe in the future, but this very much depends on the new reforms which are due out soon.
Any radical changes could jeopardise the incomes of Public Rank Taxi drivers and members of the JTDA may have to make cut backs to funding these services, let's hope the politicians won't let this situation arise!
